This original mixed media collage artwork features a vintage playing card that has been carefully burnt through at its centre by the artist. Revealed through the scorched opening are soft pink cloud formations, creating a dreamlike backdrop for an embracing couple in the foreground. Their heads have been replaced with heart motifs taken from a second vintage playing card, blending romance, surrealism and playful symbolism.
Constructed from hand-cut vintage materials, the piece explores themes of intimacy, playful love and nostalgic romance through layered imagery and unexpected visual juxtapositions.
