This playful and subversive mixed media collage centres around a vintage playing card that has been carefully cut away to leave only its border. Set within the frame is an image of a woman whose face is obscured by the word DON’T in bold lettering, positioned against a richly patterned William Morris background.

Combining vintage imagery with graphic text and ornate design references, the piece explores themes of restriction, rebellion and female identity, alongside humour and a surreal sensibility often expressed by the artist.
